Overview

Plan International Nigeria is seeking a qualified Business Development Manager to drive funding, partnerships, and program growth with a focus on advancing children’s rights and promoting gender equality.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of institutional business development strategies
Identify and track funding opportunities and donor trends
Build and manage a strong funding pipeline to improve success rates
Develop and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders
Lead proposal development processes and ensure timely submissions
Coordinate cross-functional teams to align technical and financial proposals
Provide strategic insights on donor priorities and positioning
Supervise and support the business development team

Requirements

Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
Minimum of 7–8 years’ experience in business development or fundraising within the development sector
At least 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience
Proven success in securing institutional funding
Strong understanding of donor landscapes and funding mechanisms
Experience in stakeholder engagement, consortium building, and negotiation
Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
