    Overview

    Plan International Nigeria is seeking a qualified Business Development Manager to drive funding, partnerships, and program growth with a focus on advancing children’s rights and promoting gender equality.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the implementation of institutional business development strategies
    • Identify and track funding opportunities and donor trends
    • Build and manage a strong funding pipeline to improve success rates
    • Develop and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders
    • Lead proposal development processes and ensure timely submissions
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams to align technical and financial proposals
    • Provide strategic insights on donor priorities and positioning
    • Supervise and support the business development team

    Requirements

    • Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
    • Minimum of 7–8 years’ experience in business development or fundraising within the development sector
    • At least 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience
    • Proven success in securing institutional funding
    • Strong understanding of donor landscapes and funding mechanisms
    • Experience in stakeholder engagement, consortium building, and negotiation
    • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
