Overview
Plan International Nigeria is seeking a qualified Business Development Manager to drive funding, partnerships, and program growth with a focus on advancing children’s rights and promoting gender equality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of institutional business development strategies
- Identify and track funding opportunities and donor trends
- Build and manage a strong funding pipeline to improve success rates
- Develop and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders
- Lead proposal development processes and ensure timely submissions
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to align technical and financial proposals
- Provide strategic insights on donor priorities and positioning
- Supervise and support the business development team
Requirements
- Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum of 7–8 years’ experience in business development or fundraising within the development sector
- At least 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Proven success in securing institutional funding
- Strong understanding of donor landscapes and funding mechanisms
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, consortium building, and negotiation
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
