Overview

The African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) is seeking experienced African feminist consultants to support its movement strengthening initiatives. This fellowship aims to enhance the capacity and resilience of women’s rights organizations across the continent.

Key Responsibilities

Reframing care as a collective, systemic organizational practice through workshops.
Building practical skills in digital security and data protection for organizations.
Developing Digital Security Protocols and Cyber Harassment Response Plans.
Training organizations in feminist crisis response strategies and communication preparedness for political, digital, or reputational threats.
Integrating feminist research with political action to transform experiences into strategies for collective impact.
Facilitating monthly peer learning circles on topics such as feminist governance, resource mobilization, digital security, collective care, and advocacy.
Providing a learning journey on advocacy in hostile spaces, collective care, and developing Resilience Action Plans.
Developing an accessible ecosystem of practical tools, knowledge, and peer connections to strengthen operational resilience.

Requirements

Experience as an African feminist consultant.
Specific thematic expertise, facilitation skills, and engagement levels relevant to the initiatives.
Ability to submit a Technical Expression of Interest (EOI) detailing methodology and proposed pathway(s) for movement accompaniment.
Ability to submit a Financial Proposal.
Prioritization of engagement with French- and Portuguese-speaking contexts for certain initiatives.
