Chairperson’s Youth Envoy @African Union Commission (AUC)

Overview

This role offers a unique opportunity for young African leaders to influence continental policies and advocate for youth development across Africa as the Chairperson’s Youth Envoy at the African Union Commission (AUC).

Key Responsibilities

• Champion AU youth policies and frameworks
• Promote youth engagement in governance and decision-making
• Strengthen youth networks and partnerships across Africa
• Lead advocacy campaigns for youth empowerment
• Represent youth interests in AU platforms and global engagements
• Support youth-focused events, dialogues, and initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years experience OR Master’s Degree with 7 years experience
• Background in Development Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, IT, or related fields
• At least 3 years at senior/expert level
• Strong experience in youth advocacy, leadership, and mobilization
• Proven ability to influence policy and lead multi-stakeholder initiatives
• Proficiency in at least one AU official language (English, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Kiswahili, or Spanish)

Benefits

• International Staff: $96,921.34 annually
• Local Staff: $78,461.08 annually (All-inclusive package)
