Overview
CIVICUS Global Alliance is seeking a UN Advocacy and Research Intern to support advocacy and research initiatives at the United Nations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support CIVICUS’ UN advocacy priorities and human rights initiatives.
- Facilitate engagement with stakeholders including UN agencies and Member States.
- Contribute to research, event planning, and communications.
- Assist during key UN events such as the Commission on the Status of Women, High-Level Political Forum, and UN General Assembly.
- Provide analysis of interactions with UN staff and Member States.
- Support the development of statements, briefing materials, and speaking points.
- Support event organization and communication efforts.
- Conduct research on civic space and human rights.
- Provide administrative support as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing a Master’s in relevant fields.
- At least six months of experience in international policy, advocacy, or research.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT tools.
- Understanding of international relations and civil society dynamics.
- Authorization to work in the USA.
