Women in Informal Employment: Globalizing and Organizing (WIEGO) is a global network supporting the movement of workers in informal employment, especially women and people living in poverty. We believe all workers should have equal economic opportunities, rights and protections. WIEGO works to expand research and statistics on the informal economy, promote change through policy advocacy, and build collective voice by supporting, strengthening and connecting organizations of workers in informal employment.
WIEGO is seeking an experienced Project Officer to support the successful delivery of an exciting international climate adaptation project funded by the ClimateWorks Foundation. Working with a consortium of global networks representing workers in the informal economy, you will play a central role in coordinating project implementation, supporting partners, monitoring progress and ensuring high-quality donor reporting. You’ll work closely with the Climate Adaptation Specialist, Project Steering Committee and consortium partners to help deliver a complex, multi-country programme.

This is an opportunity to contribute to an ambitious global programme supporting workers in the informal economy to respond to the impacts of climate change. You’ll work alongside an experienced international team in a collaborative and values-driven network.
The role will commence in September 2026 and will initially be offered on a fixed-term consultancy contract until 31 March 2027. Subject to satisfactory performance and the continuation of project funding, it is anticipated that the contract will be extended in line with the project, which is expected to run for a total of two years.
Fees will be agreed according to qualifications and experience and will be paid monthly on submission of an invoice and timesheet.
This is a home-based role. The successful candidate will need access to suitable computer equipment and a reliable, high-speed internet connection.
