    Overview

    The Climate Resilience Internship at the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions offers a unique opportunity for students and early-career professionals to contribute to impactful climate initiatives while gaining real-world experience in policy research, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability strategy.

    Based in Washington, DC, this Summer 2026 internship provides a dynamic environment where interns work alongside leading experts to address some of the most pressing challenges related to climate change and community resilience.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conducting independent research on climate resilience topics such as extreme heat policies, environmental regulations, and disaster preparedness.
    • Supporting research on local and federal climate policies and resilience strategies.
    • Assisting with stakeholder engagement and outreach for the Climate Resilient Communities Accelerator.
    • Contributing to event planning, logistics, and coordination.
    • Developing written outputs such as blog posts, policy briefs, and research summaries.
    • Participating in interdisciplinary discussions and supporting broader program activities.

    Requirements

    • A strong interest in climate change, sustainability, or environmental policy.
    • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
    • The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • A willingness to engage with diverse stakeholders.
    • Academic background in fields such as environmental studies, engineering, political science, public policy, economics, or related disciplines.
