Overview

The Coimbra Group Scholarship Programme 2026 offers short-term research mobility opportunities for early-career researchers from selected countries in the European Neighbourhood region.

Eligibility

• Be born on or after 1 January 1991
• Be a national and resident of an eligible European Neighbourhood country
• Be employed at a higher education or research institution in their home country
• Hold postdoctoral or equivalent academic status
• Not currently reside or study in Europe
• Apply to only one participating university
• Submit all application materials in English
• Obtain a formal acceptance letter from a host university supervisor

Benefits

The programme enables scholars to undertake research visits of 1–3 months at leading European universities while maintaining active collaboration with their home institutions.

• Secure an acceptance letter confirming supervision
• Submit an online application via the Coimbra Group platform
• Upload the acceptance letter as a mandatory document
