The Coimbra Group Scholarship Programme 2026 offers short-term research mobility opportunities for early-career researchers from Sub-Saharan Africa, enabling scholars to undertake research visits of 1–3 months at leading European universities within the Coimbra Group network.

Eligibility

Be born on or after 1 January 1981
Be a national and current resident of a Sub-Saharan African country
Be employed as academic staff at a higher education institution in Sub-Saharan Africa
Preferably hold a PhD or postdoctoral qualification
Obtain an official acceptance letter or email from a host supervisor at a participating university
Submit only one application to a single host institution
Apply through the official Coimbra Group online platform
Complete all application materials in English
