Job Title: Humanitarian Influencing Consultant
Job Location: Remote
Closing Date: 03 August 2026, 16:00 UTC
Contract: 8-week consultancy
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking a highly experienced consultant to map and analyze potential humanitarian influencing opportunities within the African Union.
The successful candidate will possess proven experience engaging with the African Union, demonstrate a deep understanding of the humanitarian and development sectors across Africa, and have influencing experience working with INGOs, UN agencies, or humanitarian coordination mechanisms within African contexts.
The consultant will examine existing INGO engagement across the AU, identify strategic opportunities for DRC, and provide actionable engagement pathways.
This project is to be completed remotely over an 8-week period.
The Danish Refugee Council operates across East and Western Africa, including the Great Lakes Region.
DRC’s influencing work aims to shape international and regional responses to humanitarian emergencies and protracted crises, impact funding decisions, and promote rights-based policies related to forced displacement and refugee rights.
As crises become increasingly complex and protracted, engagement with continental governance bodies such as the African Union is essential for sustainable, locally anchored humanitarian and development outcomes.
Eligible and qualified consultancy service providers are invited to submit proposals.
All detailed requirements are included in the tender dossier.
Interested applicants should respond via the provided link before the deadline.
Note: This opportunity offers a remote working arrangement for a short-term consultancy aimed at enhancing humanitarian influence within African continental governance frameworks.
