LAFIYA IS HIRING: DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (REMOTE)

Lafiya is seeking an exceptional Development Manager to join its growing team at a pivotal stage of expansion. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven fundraising professional to contribute to building a sustainable funding pipeline while supporting a mission that directly improves access to contraception for women in underserved communities.

    About Lafiya
Lafiya is a fast-growing non-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring that every woman who needs contraception can access it, regardless of where she lives. Through a network of trained female health providers known as Lafiya Sisters, the organisation delivers essential reproductive health services directly to hard-to-reach communities across northern Nigeria. To date, Lafiya has supported over 650,000 women and continues to scale its impact through innovative, community-based approaches and strategic partnerships.

    About the Role
The Development Manager will play a critical role in diversifying and strengthening Lafiya’s funding pipeline as the organisation transitions from a startup to a scale-up. This is a hands-on position where you will take ownership of fundraising efforts—from identifying and engaging potential funders to writing proposals and managing donor relationships.

You will build and manage a robust pipeline of funding opportunities, including foundations, philanthropists, and institutional donors. The role also involves leading the development of high-quality proposals, grant applications, and donor communications, as well as ensuring timely reporting and effective stewardship of existing relationships.

As you grow into the role, you will increasingly represent Lafiya in donor engagements, lead discussions, and independently manage a portfolio of funders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identify, research, and qualify new funding opportunities
    • Develop compelling proposals, concept notes, and grant applications
    • Maintain and manage the fundraising pipeline using CRM systems
    • Coordinate donor reporting and ensure timely follow-ups
    • Build and nurture long-term relationships with funders
    • Translate programme data into clear, persuasive narratives

    Who Should Apply
This role is ideal for candidates with 5–8 years of experience in fundraising within the non-profit or development sector. Applicants should have a proven track record of securing significant grants, strong writing and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Candidates must be comfortable working remotely and able to overlap at least four hours daily with West Africa Time.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • £45,000 annual salary (adjusted for location)
    • 30 days paid annual leave
    • 16 weeks fully paid parental leave
    • Health insurance and work support allowances
    • Opportunity to work closely with a high-impact, mission-driven team
