Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is seeking a highly skilled Finance Tools Specialist to support and optimize finance ERP systems across MSF Ubuntu in Johannesburg or Nairobi.
Job Title: Finance Tools Specialist

Contract: 2-year renewable, full-time
This role is pivotal in ensuring effective deployment, support, and continuous improvement of finance tools such as UniField and WeFin, contributing to MSF’s humanitarian mission.
Key Responsibilities
Finance System Administration and Governance
- Act as the primary focal point for UniField, WeFin, and related systems
- Maintain system configurations, master data, and user access
- Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with MSF standards
- Coordinate enhancements, testing, and issue resolution
Functional Support & Solution Design
- Provide support to users, troubleshoot system issues
- Analyze root causes and coordinate resolutions
- Gather business requirements and develop practical system solutions
- Support system upgrades and new functionality implementation
Process Improvement & Workflow Management
- Map, document, and improve finance workflows
- Develop scalable and standardized processes
- Identify opportunities for automation and optimization
- Support change management initiatives
Deployment, Training & Capacity Building
- Support rollout and expansion of finance tools
- Deliver training sessions and coaching
- Develop training materials and documentation
- Promote best practices and knowledge sharing
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Maintain procedures, guidelines, and user manuals
- Ensure documentation is current and accessible
- Contribute to knowledge resources and e-learning materials
Coordination & Reporting
- Collaborate with various teams including Finance, HR, IT, and Country Programs
- Provide regular reports and support follow-up actions
- Assist in deployment planning and support activities
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
Experience
- Minimum 5 years working with finance ERP systems in support, administration, or implementation roles
- Experience with international NGOs or multi-country organizations; MSF experience is an asset
- Proven support experience with ERP systems such as UniField and/or WeFin
- Business process analysis, workflow design, and process improvement expertise
- Experience delivering user training, coaching, and capacity-building initiatives
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, configurations, and data management
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently
- Flexibility to travel to field locations and work irregular hours as needed
- Working proficiency in English; French language skills are a strong asset
