This fellowship program offers a transformative international service experience in Uganda, where volunteers support youth and community groups in developing sustainable income-generating activities while gaining valuable professional and cultural experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Introduce microfinance initiatives and support small enterprises.
- Deliver financial literacy training to help individuals build stable livelihoods.
- Help community groups identify sustainable income-generating activities (e.g., beekeeping, soap making, jam production, small agricultural enterprises).
- Facilitate workshops on budgeting, savings, marketing, business planning, and credit management.
- Support groups in building savings programs and accessing low-interest microcredit opportunities.
- Contribute to projects related to nutrition education, malaria prevention, and youth life-skills training.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in business or a related discipline, OR
- Five years of professional experience in business management.
- No pre-existing language requirements.
- Preferred qualifications include experience in entrepreneurship, budgeting, marketing, financial literacy, basic computer skills, and training/facilitating workshops for small groups.
