    Overview

    The European Ombudsman Traineeship Programme is a paid, full-time, one-year internship for recent university graduates seeking hands-on experience within a core European Union institution. It offers a unique opportunity to work on issues related to EU administration, transparency, accountability, citizens’ rights, and good governance.

    • Assisting with public administration and transparency initiatives

    Requirements

    • Nationals of an EU Member State, or an EU accession or candidate country.
    • A minimum of a 3-year university degree (Bachelor’s level or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as EU law, policy, public administration, or international relations.
    • Thorough knowledge of one EU official language and very good knowledge of another EU official language (English is mandatory).
    • No prior paid traineeship or work contract exceeding 8 consecutive weeks in any EU institution.
