Overview
The FAO Fellows Programme 2026 offers PhD students, researchers, and professors an international opportunity to contribute to global agricultural development, food security, and sustainable agri-food systems by working alongside experts at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting technical and research work within FAO programmes.
- Providing specialized expertise in areas related to agriculture, food security, environmental sustainability, or development studies.
- Contributing to research activities, policy analysis, and program implementation.
- Assisting FAO teams with analytical work and technical reporting.
- Participating in program planning, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
- Working under the supervision of an assigned FAO specialist or program manager.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD degree, currently enrolled in a PhD programme, or a recent graduate with advanced academic training.
- At least two years of relevant work or research experience in agriculture, food security, environmental sustainability, or development studies.
- Working knowledge of at least one FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish).
- Nationals of an FAO Member country.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in multicultural and international environments.
