    Overview

    The African Food Fellowship is accepting applications for its 2026 cohort, recruiting 120 mid-career food systems leaders—40 from each participating country: Kenya, Rwanda, and Zambia.

    Eligibility

    • Mid-career professionals aged 27–50
    • Demonstrable experience in food systems, not limited to formal degrees in agriculture
    • Fluency in English
    • Residency in the country of program delivery
    • Open to diverse backgrounds and marginalized groups; the Fellowship encourages participation from women, queer people, and indigenous leaders

    Benefits

    • Program Fee: USD 1,000 (or local currency equivalent), payable in two installments
    • Enrollment Fee: USD 100, charged to all participants
    • Limited scholarships available for candidates demonstrating financial need
    • Certificate from Wageningen University & Research and Wasafiri Consulting upon completion
