Overview

Render is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work closely with strategic customers, providing technical partnership and support. The role involves engaging with top accounts and shaping the onboarding process for high-growth startups on the Render platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a dedicated technical partner for Render's top accounts, facilitating architecture reviews and migration planning.
• Oversee scoped onboarding intensives for high-growth startups, ensuring successful execution from intake to delivery.
• Lead customer engagements focusing on database architecture, performance tuning, and migration from platforms like Heroku and AWS.
• Drive customer activation and revenue expansion through collaborative work with account teams.
• Define the Forward Deployed Engineer playbook including engagement templates and success metrics.
• Provide feedback to product and engineering teams based on customer interactions.
• Coordinate with Account Managers and Customer Engineers for efficient service delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years in a customer-facing engineering role.
• Strong software engineering skills with the ability to write production-quality code.
• Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure and databases, specifically Postgres.
• Experience with AI tools and application architectures.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization.
• Self-directed and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
• Understanding of the connection between technical achievements and business growth.
