Fully Funded CSEAS Fellowship 2027 in Japan – Applications Open Now @Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS)

Overview

The Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) at Kyoto University is inviting applications for its 2027 Fellowship Program, offering a prestigious opportunity for scholars and professionals to engage in advanced, multidisciplinary research in Japan.

Eligibility

• Accomplished scholar of high standing
• Under 65 years of age at the time of appointment (exceptions may apply)
• Hold a PhD (unless prior approval is granted by a CSEAS faculty member)
• Not currently enrolled in a graduate or postdoctoral program
• At least six years since a previous CSEAS fellowship (if applicable)
• Open to professionals such as journalists, NGO workers, government officials, IT specialists, and public intellectuals for short-term research visits
