The Delegation of the European Union to the African Union is offering a funded traineeship opportunity for young graduates interested in international relations, diplomacy, and global cooperation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting preparatory work related to EU-AU ministerial and summit processes
- Drafting press releases, speeches, reports, and communication materials
- Supporting visibility and strategic communication initiatives
- Assisting in organizing internal and external events
- Attending meetings and preparing detailed minutes and summaries
- Producing audiovisual content such as short videos, social media graphics, and factsheets
- Conducting research on political, economic, and cooperation issues
- Supporting coordination within communication teams and tracking action points
- Contributing to internal documentation and policy-related outputs
Requirements
- Currently residing in Ethiopia
- Hold a Master’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Law, or other relevant social sciences
- Have less than one year of professional experience after graduation
- Demonstrate fluency in English
- Possess strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills
- Show proficiency in creating and editing audiovisual and digital communication content
- Be familiar with tools such as Canva or similar design platforms
- Exhibit a proactive, reliable, and collaborative working style
- Show genuine interest in African Union governance, politics, and economic development
