    Overview

    The Disability Rights Fund (DRF) offers a grant round in 2026 aimed at supporting organizations led by persons with disabilities across Sub-Saharan Africa. This funding enables such organizations to advocate for rights, influence policies, and enhance disability inclusion.

    Eligibility

    • Headquartered and primarily operating in a Sub-Saharan African country targeted by DRF.
    • Be a registered organization of persons with disabilities (OPD) or operate under a fiscal sponsor that is a registered OPD.
    • Propose a project aligned with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

    Benefits

    • Small Grants: Up to USD 60,000 over two years for local organizations.
    • Mid-Level Coalition Grants: Between USD 30,000 and USD 50,000 per year for collaborative initiatives.
    • National Coalition Grants: USD 40,000 to USD 60,000 per year, with a total of up to USD 120,000 over two years for national-level partnerships.

    How to Apply

    The application begins with a Letter of Interest (LOI) submission in multiple languages. Successful LOIs will be invited to submit full applications.

    • Portal opens for LOI submissions: May 30, 2026.
    • Deadline for Letters of Interest: June 21, 2026, at 23:59 ET.
    • Deadline for full applications (invited organizations only): August 23, 2026.
