    Role Overview

    Global Artivism seeks an Operations Fellow for a mentored, time-limited engagement focused on developing organizational infrastructure, systems design, and operational coordination.

    The fellow will work closely with the Operations Director to shape operational frameworks, support documentation, and contribute to movement infrastructure, gaining hands-on experience in a global, movement-led environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Infrastructure Design & Framework Development

    • Collaborate with the Operations Director to craft operational frameworks aligned with strategic priorities and values
    • Assist in designing staffing models, organizational structures, and resource frameworks
    • Support onboarding processes and operational guidance for new members
    • Ensure operational systems align with governance principles and democratic decision-making

    Systems Documentation & Knowledge Management

    • Create operational guidance, toolkits, and checklists for distributed teams
    • Build internal knowledge systems to facilitate transparency and transferability
    • Promote documentation practices that enable teams to operate independently

    Capacity Building & Research

    • Identify areas for process clarification and systems improvement
    • Address operational bottlenecks through analysis and solutions
    • Share learning and research relevant models to enhance movement infrastructure

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple tasks across distributed teams
    • Excellent written communication in English
    • Proficiency with digital tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, etc.

    • Genuine interest in operations, organizational systems, or movement infrastructure
    • Ability to manage own schedule and compliance as an independent contractor
    • Commitment to the values and mission of Global Artivism

    Preferred

    • Background in business administration, project management, finance, or related fields
    • Experience with civil society, NGOs, or community organizations
    • Familiarity with digital project management tools
    • Multilingual abilities, especially relevant to Global South contexts

    Contractor Details & Work Arrangements

    • Status: Independent contractor with flexible work hours
    • Location: Open globally, with a focus on applicants from the Global South
    • Duration: 8 months, starting August 2024, with potential renewal

    • Compensation: USD $1,200–$1,800/month, paid monthly upon invoice
    • Flexibility: Manage own schedule, participate in scheduled calls across time zones
    • Responsibilities: Responsible for own taxes, insurance, and compliance in residence country
