    About the Role

    UNDP is seeking a qualified Global Project Manager to lead the management and coordination of the GCF EW4All Multi-Country Project.

    The position involves ensuring coherent implementation across countries, supervising project activities, managing a global management unit, and maintaining effective relationships with partners, stakeholders, and technical advisors.

    The role requires strategic planning, monitoring, reporting, and capacity building to support the UN Global Early Warnings for All Initiative.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Leadership and Coordination

    • Develop and implement project strategies, work plans, and budgets
    • Oversee daily project activities, supervise personnel, and monitor progress
    • Organize Project Board meetings, steering committees, and coordinate with Pillar Leads and Country Offices
    • Manage risks, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure compliance with UNDP policies

    Monitoring and Reporting

    • Establish and maintain project monitoring and reporting systems
    • Consolidate and analyze progress reports from global and country levels
    • Prepare technical, financial, and progress reports for stakeholders and partners

    Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement

    • Facilitate strategic dialogue with UNDP offices, government officials, and partners
    • Lead coordination meetings with stakeholders and organize knowledge-sharing activities
    • Act as a liaison for environmental and social grievance issues

    Communication and Knowledge Management

    • Oversee communication strategies, knowledge capture, and dissemination
    • Promote lessons learned and best practices in disaster preparedness and early warning systems
    • Contribute to global knowledge networks and UNDP’s Community of Practice

    Capacity Building

    • Support capacity development of host country governments
    • Promote innovation and application of best practices in project implementation

    Qualifications and Experience

    Education

    • Master’s Degree in Climate Change, Environment, Development, or related fields OR
    • Bachelor’s Degree with an additional 2 years of relevant experience

    Experience

    • Minimum 7 years (Master’s) or 9 years (Bachelor’s) in international development, project management, or related areas
    • At least 3 years in project coordination and management
    • Proven experience working with global programs, disaster risk reduction, and early warning systems
    • Experience with environmental funds such as GEF, GCF, or AF is desirable

    Skills

    • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and coordination skills
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
    • Ability to manage cross-cultural and geographically dispersed teams
    • Fluency in English; working knowledge of French and/or Spanish is preferred
