    Global Youth Water Envoys Program 2026 – Empowering Young Leaders to Shape Global Water Governance

    The Global Youth Water Envoys Program is a capacity-building and diplomatic engagement initiative established ahead of the 2026 UN Water Conference, co-hosted by the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Senegal in Abu Dhabi this December, endorsed by the Conference Presidencies.

    The program aims to select and prepare 100 young leaders from across the globe for structured, substantive participation in global water governance.

    Contract: Capacity-building program with active engagement throughout the period

    Participants will undergo foundational training, thematic specialization, and direct engagement with national delegations and institutional partners, positioning them as active contributors to the Conference outcomes and the wider international water agenda.

    Program Objectives

    The program reflects the UAE’s commitment to fostering partnerships, regional cooperation, and empowering youth to address critical global challenges, notably water insecurity.

    It seeks to bridge the gap between youth expertise and formal water governance, ensuring youth voices are embedded in policy development and international dialogue.

    Role and Responsibilities of Youth Envoys

    • Complete the entire program journey, including training sessions and engagement activities.
    • Dedicate approximately 3–4 hours weekly to program activities during the active period.
    • Contribute actively to assigned Interactive Dialogue tracks.

    • Demonstrate professionalism, collaboration, and respect in all interactions with peers, experts, policymakers, and stakeholders.
    • Represent youth perspectives in discussions related to global water governance.
    • Participate in key milestones, including the 2026 UN Water Conference, subject to logistical arrangements.

    • Engage with experts, policymakers, and institutional leaders.
    • Support discussions, engage with national delegations, and contribute to the six Interactive Dialogues of the Conference.

    Candidate Eligibility and Requirements

    • Aged between 18 and 35 years at the time of the 2026 UN Water Conference.
    • Proficiency in English, the program’s primary language.
    • Interest or relevant experience in water governance, public policy, climate action, sustainability, innovation, or related fields.

    • Commitment to active participation and representing youth perspectives.
    • Applicants from water-stressed regions, including Africa, Arab States, and Asia and the Pacific, are prioritized based on merit.
