The Graduate Trainee – Procurement at Hima Cement Limited is designed for early-career professionals aiming to build expertise in procurement and supply chain management within a dynamic industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Researching and identifying new suppliers for low-value purchases
Presenting potential suppliers for evaluation and approval
Sourcing and comparing quotations from multiple suppliers
Negotiating pricing, delivery timelines, and contractual terms
Verifying that goods and services meet company specifications before procurement
Ensuring timely delivery of goods and services
Monitoring supplier payments to ensure timely processing
Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers
Conducting quarterly supplier performance reviews
Identifying procurement risks and opportunities and advising management
Creating and managing local purchase orders within authorised limits

Requirements

A Bachelor’s Honours Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or a related field
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in procurement or supply chain operations
Exposure to sourcing, procurement processes, and supply chain management practices
Postgraduate qualifications such as CIPS or equivalent (advantageous)
Knowledge of electronic procurement systems (advantageous)
Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP (advantageous)
Experience working within cross-functional teams (advantageous)
