SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT
The Southeast Asia Gender-Based Violence Prevention Platform (The Platform) was created out of a shared commitment to end Gender-Based Violence (GBV) across Southeast Asia. Supported by the Australian Government, the Platform brings together Women’s Rights Organisations (WROs), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and networks, governments, international organisations, and regional bodies, to collaborate, build capacity and evidence, and accelerate action to prevent GBV in all its forms. The Platform is guided by the principles of being locally driven, evidence-based, inclusive and diverse, survivor-centred and trauma informed, adaptable, collaborative, minimising harm, accessible and innovative. It seeks to build capacity, amplify evidence, and innovate in the prevention of GBV through its three work Pillars, namely Demonstrate, Facilitate and Advocate Pillar.
The Platform is led by a regionally-based Secretariat in collaboration with Cowater International, Social Development Direct, and the Equality Institute (the Collaborators), which support organisational development and provide technical support. It works in partnership with the United Nations Joint Programme (UN Joint Programme) on Gender-based Violence Prevention in Southeast Asia, implemented by UN Women and UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund). The Platform is guided by an Advisory Committee, comprising DFAT, UN Joint Programme and representatives of stakeholders in the region.
The Platform is seeking an Implementation Coordinator to support management of its three work Pillars, as well as engagement with various stakeholders in the region and beyond, including the UN Joint Programme and the Advisory Committee.
SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Implementation Coordinator will provide technical and coordination support to the Secretariat’s senior management team. Working under the supervision of the Regional Director, the Implementation Coordinator will contribute to the Platform’s stakeholders network building and relationship management, internal and external coordination, to promote Platform’s visibility and network in and beyond the region and effective functioning of the Secretariat towards on time and on budget delivery. This position is not expected to supervise staff but will be required to work together closely with various team members.
