Overview

UNESCO is seeking interns to support the Section of Youth, Literacy and Skills Development.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing for the celebrations of International Literacy Day (8 September 2026)
• Managing the UNESCO International Literacy Prizes
• Contributing to the preparation of the UNESCO Report on literacy implementation
• Supporting other activities related to youth and adult literacy

Requirements

Academic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a postgraduate program (Master’s or PhD) in education, international development, social sciences, or related fields.
• Alternatively, in the 3rd or final year of undergraduate studies in relevant disciplines.

Language Skills

• Excellent proficiency in English and/or French (oral and written); fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies

• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer systems and office software.

Benefits

Internship duration of 3-6 months during mid-May to December 2026.
