Overview
The role of IT Support Specialist at Sierra involves providing hands-on IT support at one of the company's rapidly growing offices in New York, focusing on macOS troubleshooting and network connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first line of defense for employee IT issues with particular emphasis on macOS troubleshooting.
- Share responsibility for the global IT helpdesk queue, triaging new requests and resolving issues across offices.
- Support engineers with technical issues using logs and command-line tools.
- Utilize AI tools for troubleshooting while safeguarding sensitive data.
- Oversee the full hardware lifecycle, including procurement and deployment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment in conference rooms.
- Assist in the build-out and move of the office, ensuring IT and AV systems are properly set up.
- Triage office network issues and coordinate with vendors for resolution.
- Set up equipment for new hires to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
- Manage routine administration of applications like Okta and Google Workspace.
- Engage in IT projects with clear criteria and necessary documentation.
- Propose and implement process improvements for IT operations.
- Support logistics for software installations and hardware refresh planning.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of hands-on IT support or systems administration experience.
- Strong proficiency in macOS and endpoints management.
- Experience with Okta, Google Workspace, or comparable SaaS applications.
- Ability to support engineers and communicate technical concepts effectively.
- Structured approach to troubleshooting with strong follow-through.
- Ability to manage competing requests in a global queue.
- Fluency in AV and networking fundamentals.
- Highly organized and execution-focused with a bias for action.

Location
