Centre for Child Care and Human Development (C3HD), in partnership with DIMAGI is recruiting qualified Frontline Community Volunteers (FLWs) to support the implementation of the Connect Readers Project.
The project aims to identify individuals with near-vision difficulties (Presbyopia) and provide appropriate reading glasses through community based screening and outreach activities in Yola South and Yola North Local government area of Adamawa State

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct simple near vision screening for individuals aged 40 years and above or those reporting difficulty with near vision
• Screen community members and determine those requiring reading glasses.
• Select and provide the correct reading glasses based on screening results.
• Educate community members on the importance and benefits of using reading glasses for near-vision activities such as reading, writing, sewing, and other close-up tasks.
• Register beneficiaries and capture screening results.
• Demonstrate the correct use, care, and maintenance of reading glasses.
• Provide guidance on proper handling, cleaning, storage, and protection of reading glasses to ensure durability and effectiveness.
• Address common misconceptions and encourage consistent use of prescribed reading glasses.
• Conduct simple near-vision screening using approved E-Charts and other project-approved screening tools.
• Distribute and verify beneficiary information and ensure accuracy of records.
• Collect household and beneficiary data using approved digital tools
Qualifications
• Diploma in Nursing, ophthalmic technician, Community Health Extension Worker, Diploma in Public health, Environmental Health technicians.
Experience
• Minimum of 1–2 years of Experience working with NGOs, community-based organizations, or public health programs is an added advantage.
• Good communication and demonstration skills.
• Ability to communicate fluently in Hausa and the predominant local language of the assigned community.
• Must be a resident of the target community/ward.
• Familiarity with data collection tools for data collection, GPS capture, and online reporting..
• Attention to detail in recording screening and beneficiary information accurately.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills on Android smartphones and mobile applications.
• Must possess a positive attitude toward serving community members, particularly older adults and vulnerable populations.
• Experience in working with field teams and supporting program implementation.
