Job Opportunity | Education Project Manager – Maiduguri, Nigeria

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is currently recruiting an experienced Education Project Manager (EPM) to support its humanitarian operations in Northeast Nigeria. This position is based in Maiduguri and plays a critical role in delivering high-quality education interventions to conflict-affected populations.

    About the Context

Nigeria continues to experience one of the world’s most complex and protracted humanitarian crises. Over a decade of conflict in the Lake Chad Basin has led to widespread displacement, ongoing insecurity, and deep humanitarian needs.

In Northeast Nigeria—particularly Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states—over 2.3 million people remain internally displaced, while an estimated 7.3 million individuals require humanitarian assistance in 2026. Despite some stabilization, insecurity, limited access to hard-to-reach areas, and evolving vulnerabilities continue to challenge humanitarian operations.

Beyond the Northeast, insecurity in the Northwest and North Central regions has also contributed to increased displacement, driven by banditry, intercommunal conflict, and resource-based tensions.
