    Role Summary

    LaMP is seeking a proactive and resourceful Manager, Africa, to lead its efforts in building labor mobility programs across the continent.

    This builder role involves identifying opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, supporting fundraising initiatives, and transforming early ideas into impactful, scalable programs—operating with significant autonomy while collaborating closely with the global team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Building and Developing Opportunities

    • Identify and develop labor mobility opportunities across Africa, especially in Europe-bound corridors
    • Shape early-stage concepts into fundable, scalable programs
    • Drive opportunities from initial conversations to concrete next steps

    Building Partnerships

    • Establish relationships with employers, recruiters, government agencies, and ecosystem actors
    • Engage with government stakeholders in areas like labor, migration, and foreign affairs
    • Cultivate champions and collaborators to convert interest into action

    Supporting Fundraising and Strategic Engagement

    • Build and manage a pipeline of fundable opportunities within Africa
    • Develop proposals, concept notes, and partnership strategies
    • Engage donors and strategic partners effectively
    • Represent LaMP at regional events, conferences, and meetings to increase visibility

    Program Design and Implementation

    • Own the design, launch, and coordination of programs
    • Ensure workstreams progress smoothly and partners stay aligned
    • Troubleshoot issues and ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables

    • Initiative and follow-through
    • Strong relationship-building skills across sectors and geographies
    • Ability to think strategically while executing practically
    • Credibility in external settings with governments and private sector actors

    • Long-term focus on sustainable solutions
    • Experience in program development, partnership management, and fundraising
    • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
    • Based in Africa, with a preference for Nairobi

    • Building strong relationships with government, partners, and market actors
    • Delivering tangible progress from idea to partnership to program implementation
    • Increasing LaMP’s visibility and trust as a key partner in Africa

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Proven results in the African context, especially in labor mobility, migration, or related sectors
    • Experience working with public, private, and development sectors
    • Successful track record in fundraising, proposal development, and donor engagement

    • Strong communication skills and external presence
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
    • Enthusiasm for building innovative solutions that create long-term impact
    • Experience in private sector collaboration is advantageous
