    Job Summary

    The Rainforest Alliance is seeking an experienced internal communications and digital workplace consultant (or consultancy firm) to assess current digital tools for internal communications and develop a strategic roadmap for an integrated communication ecosystem.

    The project aims to enhance organizational effectiveness, strategy execution, and employee engagement across a global organization with 700 employees.

    The consultant will review existing channels such as Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and internal communication tools, analyze their effectiveness, and recommend future-state solutions aligned with best practices.

    The engagement will include stakeholder interviews, employee workshops, benchmarking, and the development of a phased implementation plan. The project duration is from September to October 2026.

    Key Responsibilities

    Discovery and Assessment

    • Review existing documentation, strategies, analytics, governance materials, and employee feedback.
    • Conduct stakeholder interviews with leadership, communications, HR, regional teams, and other key functions.
    • Facilitate workshops and surveys to gather employee insights.
    • Assess current digital communication channels and governance practices.

    Analysis and Strategy Development

    • Evaluate strengths, weaknesses, risks, and opportunities within the current ecosystem.
    • Benchmark against industry best practices.
    • Identify employee communication needs and pain points.
    • Explore future-state options including AI, automation, and personalization.

    Future-State Planning

    • Define channel purposes, governance structures, and user journeys.
    • Develop an integrated communications ecosystem model.
    • Create content architecture principles and KPIs.
    • Develop a phased roadmap with clear priorities, resources, risks, and success measures.

    Deliverables

    • Project workplan and methodology (within 2 weeks of start).
    • Current-state assessment report (September 2026).
    • Future-state channel strategy and governance model (October 2026).
    • Phased implementation roadmap (October 2026).
    • Executive presentation and final business case (October 2026).

    Qualifications & Selection Criteria

    Minimum Qualifications

    • At least 8 years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or digital workplaces.
    • Proven expertise in conducting communication channel assessments and developing intranet/digital strategy.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 environments, Confluence, and digital collaboration tools.

    • Experience with complex, geographically dispersed organizations.
    • Excellent stakeholder engagement and strategic planning skills.
    • Experience in nonprofit, international development, or global matrix organizations is preferred.
