About the Role

The School of International Futures (SOIF) is seeking a dynamic Hubs Incubator Lead to spearhead its incubation work stream within the Long-Term Governance Programme.

This pivotal role involves building and strengthening in-country hubs that promote long-term governance initiatives worldwide, supporting movement-building aligned with the UN Declaration on Future Generations.

The role requires engaging with a broad spectrum of actors—from grassroots civil society to senior government officials—and fostering relationships across countries to translate momentum into institutional change.

The position involves supporting existing hubs in Norway and Germany, developing new hubs in global majority countries, and ensuring strategic delivery aligned with School of International Futures’s vision of an equitable, sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities

Hub Development & Coordination

• Connect and support early-adopter individuals and organisations, including senior government officials, to establish and strengthen in-country hubs
• Identify opportunities for new hubs in global majority countries and build networks within target nations

• Provide tailored implementation strategies and capacity-building support aligned with each country’s political landscape
• Maintain an active regional map of hub status, needs, and opportunities

Network Weaving & Relationship Building

• Foster connections among stakeholders across government, civil society, academia, media, and climate/nature sectors
• Broker introductions and build trust between diverse actors, including policymakers and civil society leaders
• Cultivate relationships with senior political decision-makers to drive institutional commitment

Cross-Hub Learning & Movement Building

• Facilitate peer learning and exchange of ideas across hubs
• Channel expert advice and technical support through the Long-Term Governance Network
• Extract insights from the network to inform multilateral efforts at the UN and EU levels

Strategic Prioritisation & Delivery

• Own and adapt the incubation strategy, balancing systematic delivery with emergent learning
• Identify near-term opportunities to demonstrate progress while maintaining long-term strategic goals
• Coordinate with other SOIF work stream leads to ensure alignment and cohesive practice
• Track progress, surface milestones, and foster momentum for the movement

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in coalition-building, network weaving, or movement development, engaging with government officials and civil society
• Strong relationship management skills across diverse stakeholders
• Experience in owning and adapting strategy within a dynamic work environment

• Ability to think strategically while managing practical delivery tasks
• Highly organized, proactive, and capable of working independently across virtual, cross-timezone settings
• Cultural and political fluency for operating in various national and regional contexts
