About the Internship
The Civil Engineering Technician Internship provides structured practical training under the guidance of experienced engineering professionals. Interns will gain exposure to engineering projects while developing practical knowledge in:

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- Senior Certificate / National Senior Certificate (Matric)
- National Diploma in Civil Engineering or an equivalent Civil Engineering qualification from a recognised institution
- Between 0 and 18 months of relevant post-qualification experience (preferred)
- Basic understanding of civil engineering principles
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Computer literacy
Advantageous Qualifications and Experience
The following will strengthen an application:
- Exposure to Civil 3D, Revit, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar engineering design software
- Eligibility or intention to register with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Candidate Engineering Technician
- Previous vacation work, internship experience, site exposure, or academic project work within:
- Civil infrastructure
- Water engineering
- Mining
- Geotechnical engineering
- Related engineering disciplines

Working under the supervision of experienced engineering personnel, the successful interns will assist with:
Civil Engineering Design
- Preparing 3D infrastructure models using Civil 3D or similar software
- Supporting engineering design evaluations
- Assisting with engineering planning and technical specifications
Technical Documentation
- Preparing technical reports
- Writing meeting minutes
- Compiling project schedules
- Maintaining engineering documentation
- Recording technical information
Data Management
- Capturing technical data
- Processing engineering information
- Analysing project-related data
Project Coordination
- Participating in project meetings
- Communicating with project teams
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and stakeholders under supervision
Construction Monitoring
- Supporting site inspections
- Assisting with quality assurance and quality control documentation
- Recording construction progress
- Conducting material checks
- Maintaining construction records
Site Documentation
- Assisting with the preparation and review of:
- Site instructions
- Construction documentation
