    Overview

    This programme offers an intensive in-person journalist training focused on climate change and migration narratives in the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) region, scheduled from 1–3 July 2026.

    Eligibility

    • Open to early and mid-career freelance and staff journalists from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan.

    Applicants should demonstrate:

    • Minimum 2–4 years of journalism experience.
    • Experience reporting on environmental or climate issues.
    • Strong motivation to specialise in climate migration reporting.
    • Basic photography, video production, or editing skills.
    • Availability for the full training duration.

    Women journalists and candidates from marginalised communities are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Benefits

    Selected participants will receive:

    • Full financial support including international airfare, visa processing costs, accommodation, meals during the workshop, and local transportation.

    The programme is funded through the SUCCESS project under the Climate Adaptation and Resilience initiative supported by UK aid and the International Development Research Centre.
