    Overview

    The African Research Talents Experiencing Mentoring in Science (ARTEMIS) programme invites applications from graduates, doctoral candidates, and early career researchers across Africa for a one-year mentorship collaboration.

    Eligibility

    The ARTEMIS programme is open to both mentees (African-based researchers) and mentors (MPI-affiliated researchers), each with specific requirements:

    Mentees

    • Be enrolled at a recognized African university or research institution
    • Provide proof of enrollment
    • Demonstrate proficiency in English (e.g., IELTS score of at least 6.5 or equivalent, where applicable)
    • Possess a valid passport or identification
    • Show willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities

    Mentors

    • Be PhD candidates or postdoctoral researchers at a Max Planck Institute
    • Provide a letter of support from their director or group leader
    • Inform their institute’s administration prior to application submission

    Benefits
