Overview

Mercy Corps is inviting applications for the position of WASH Assistant to support its humanitarian programmes in Borno State, Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of water, sanitation, and hygiene activities.
• Engage beneficiaries to form water user committees.
• Manage hygiene promotion activities.
• Support community hygiene promoters through training and supervision.
• Assist in distributing information materials and monitoring hygiene practices.
• Maintain detailed records and reports on field activities, including chlorination and water quality checks.

Requirements

• BSc or HND in Public Health, Biochemistry, Community Health, or related fields.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in WASH programming.
• Experience in training hygiene promoters and establishing WASH committees.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills.
• Fluency in English and Hausa or other local languages.
