Overview

This role offers an opportunity to lead and coordinate operational research activities across Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) programmes in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

Lead planning and execution of research across SMC-supported states.
Manage research teams, including data collectors, supervisors, and partners.
Support development of research proposals, concept notes, and studies.
Ensure timely delivery of surveys (baseline, midline, endline).
Translate research findings into programme improvements.
Support development and monitoring of research budgets.
Track expenditures and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
Strengthen operational research capacity within teams and partners.
Support training and institutional development initiatives.
Participate in technical working groups and stakeholder engagements.
Develop policy briefs and reports for donors and policymakers.
Ensure safeguarding and compliance with research standards.

Requirements

Postgraduate degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field.
12–15 years of experience in research/programme management.
Strong expertise in operational research and data analysis.
Experience with HMIS systems (e.g., DHIS2).
Proficiency in tools like STATA, NVIVO, CSPro, etc.
Strong communication and report writing skills.
Experience in malaria or communicable disease control (desirable).
Experience working with government and NGOs (desirable).
