Operating in Nigeria since 2016, PUI delivers life-saving interventions in health, nutrition, protection, and psychosocial support across Borno and Northwest Nigeria.
PUI is currently recruiting a qualified and compassionate MBC Nurse to support maternal, infant, and psychosocial care services in Zamfara State.

🎯 Role Overview
The MBC Nurse will manage and strengthen Mother & Baby Corner (MBC) activities within health facilities, Outpatient Therapeutic Programs (OTP), and Stabilization Centers (SC). The role focuses on integrating maternal and child health, nutrition, and psychosocial support services to improve outcomes for mothers and infants.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
👩👧 Programme Implementation
• Conduct mother and baby care activities including hygiene, feeding, and bonding sessions
• Deliver group psychoeducation sessions for mothers and caregivers
• Identify and refer beneficiaries with psychological distress
• Promote Infant and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN) practices
• Support development and integration of MBC services in health facilities
📊 Monitoring & Reporting
• Track daily activities and maintain accurate records
• Ensure proper data collection and weekly reporting
• Promote awareness and visibility of MBC services
• Participate in supervision meetings and trainings
🤝 Team & Capacity Building
• Train caregivers on childcare practices and psychosocial wellbeing
• Supervise MBC facilitators
• Collaborate with health, nutrition, and MHPSS teams
🎓 Requirements
Education:
• Qualified Nurse, Social Worker, Counsellor, Psychologist, or related paramedical field
Experience:
• Previous experience in nutrition programs (OTP, SC, TSFP)
• Experience in humanitarian or NGO settings is an advantage
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English and Hausa
• Knowledge of MIYCN and community nutrition practices (preferred)
• Ability to work in challenging environments
• Good reporting and documentation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
