Overview

The Opportunity Grants Programme aims to make PyCon Africa accessible to a diverse range of participants by offering financial assistance to selected applicants. Due to limited funding, only a small number of grants will be awarded based on demonstrated financial need and the quality of responses submitted during the application process.

The programme is open to a wide range of applicants, with priority given to:

• Speakers at PyCon Africa 2026
• Individuals committed to giving back to their local communities
• Applicants who contribute to diversity and inclusion in African programming

Benefits

Applicants may request support for:

• Conference tickets
• Travel expenses
• Visa costs (if applicable)
• Accommodation
• Daily subsistence (e.g., meals and local transport)

Successful applicants will be provided with a free conference ticket, but should request only what is necessary.
