    Overview

    The Conservation Insight Grants provide targeted financial support for research that strengthens conservation science and informs practical action for endangered species. These grants focus on generating robust scientific evidence to support conservation decision-making for endangered and critically endangered species.

    Eligibility

    • Applicants must be based in the United Kingdom, UK Overseas Territories, or countries not classified as high-income by the World Bank.
    • Bird species are excluded from funding.

    Benefits

    • Funding for medium-term research initiatives ranging from £3,000 to £10,000 per year, with a maximum of £20,000 per project.
    • Access to online training on Conservation Evidence methodologies and guidance on research design.

    How to Apply

    The application process is divided into two stages:

    • Stage 1: Pre-Application - Submit a short pre-application form. Approximately 20 applicants will be selected to proceed to Stage 2.
    • Stage 2: Full Proposal - Selected applicants will submit a detailed project proposal, reviewed by PTES trustees, with 5-6 projects selected for funding.

    Deadline

    The pre-application deadline is May 28, 2026, at 23:59 UK time.

    For projects commencing in January 2027, notifications for Stage 1 results will be in July 2026, with Stage 2 training sessions occurring in late July 2026.
