Overview

The Our Ocean Conference 2026 Fellowship presents a unique opportunity for journalists to report on urgent environmental challenges affecting the world’s oceans. This fully funded fellowship supports selected journalists to attend and cover the global conference in Mombasa from June 16–18, 2026.

Eligibility

• Professional journalist affiliated with an established media outlet
• Report from a coastal country
• Prior experience covering ocean or environmental issues
• Recent published work (within the last 12 months)
• Letter of support from an editor or media organization
• Demonstrated strong English language proficiency
• Available to attend the full program in Mombasa
• Freelancers must secure a letter confirming publication of their stories
