    Overview

    This program offers a learning opportunity for talented young individuals to gain hands-on experience with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), aiming to complement their academic studies with practical work experience.

    Eligibility

    • Nationality: Candidates must be nationals of FAO Member countries.
    • Education: Candidates must be students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program or recent graduates.
    • Languages: Candidates must have a working knowledge of at least one FAO official language (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian), with knowledge of an additional language considered an asset.
    • Age: Candidates should be aged between 21 and 30 by the start of their internship.
    • Skills: Candidates should adapt to an international environment and possess good communication skills.
    • Residence/Visa: Candidates must have appropriate residence or immigration status in the country of assignment.
    • Family Relation: Candidates with family members employed by FAO are not eligible for the Internship Programme.

    Benefits

    Interns receive a monthly stipend to support living expenses, not exceeding US$700. The internship duration typically ranges from 3 to 11 months, depending on the assignment.
