Overview

The Partnership for skills in Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology (PASET) is offering PhD Scholarships through its Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund (RSIF). This program aims to train PhD students and post-doctoral researchers in sub-Saharan Africa within transformative technology fields.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake 3-4 year doctoral training in Applied Sciences, Engineering, and Technology (ASET).
• Participate in a 6-24 month 'sandwich' placement at an international partner university, research institute, or private company.
• Conduct research aligned with ASET fields and contribute to Africa's development.
• Address human resource gaps in ASET and improve research and innovation capacities in sub-Saharan Africa.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant ASET field, completed less than six years prior to April 30, 2020.
• Meet the admission requirements of the host African university.
• Citizen of a sub-Saharan African country.
• Willingness to enroll full-time in a PhD program and undertake the international sandwich training.
• Priority given to women and existing young academic faculty without a PhD.
