    Overview of Peace Corps Uganda Volunteer Program

    1. Community Health Promoter (Uganda)

    This role focuses on improving health outcomes through community education and prevention strategies.

    What You Will Do

    • Promote maternal and child health
    • Lead awareness campaigns on disease prevention (malaria, HIV, nutrition)
    • Train community members on hygiene and sanitation
    • Support health data tracking and behavior change initiatives
    • Organize community health programs and events

    Uganda faces a significant burden of preventable diseases, with approximately 75% of illnesses linked to preventable causes. Volunteers play a critical role in shifting focus from treatment to prevention.

    Training and Living Experience
