Overview
The University of Groningen is offering a fully funded, four-year PhD position to research the family networks of older migrants in the Netherlands. This interdisciplinary project will explore how these networks influence well-being, loneliness, and social integration, utilizing large-scale population data.
Key Responsibilities

Requirements
- Master’s degree in sociology or a closely related discipline.
- Strong interest in research on migration, social cohesion, or ageing.
- Solid methodological background, with experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Prior experience with programming or statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of Python is an advantage.
- Professional proficiency in English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
- Collaborative, motivated, and interested in interdisciplinary research.
- Strong analytical skills, planning abilities, and communication skills.
