Overview

Hivos is recruiting a Program Officer to join the EU SWITCH Kenya Green initiative, which aims to accelerate Kenya’s transition to a circular and inclusive green economy.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day project operations
• Ensure compliance with donor and internal standards
• Maintain communications with consortium partners and stakeholders
• Track work plans, budgets, and program deliverables
• Support GESI (Gender Equity and Social Inclusion) tracking
• Assist in planning and executing Hivos’ work plan
• Support lobbying, advocacy, and policy influence
• Contribute to internal and external communications
• Support event logistics, campaign planning, and budget tracking
• Maintain relationships with SWITCH Kenya Green partners
• Ensure timely follow-up on partner deliverables
• Support Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) processes
• Maintain organized digital program files
• Support audit preparation and compliance documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development studies, public policy, environmental studies, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 4–5 years in program management, coordination, or related roles, preferably in an NGO or development context
• Strong writing, communication, and documentation skills
• Commitment to gender equity, inclusion, and sustainability
