Plan International Nigeria is hiring a Project Coordinator to lead the implementation of an education-focused pilot project funded by the Akelius Foundation. This role is ideal for experienced professionals in education and development who are passionate about improving learning outcomes and driving impact at scale.

Role Purpose
The Project Coordinator will ensure the effective planning, coordination, and delivery of an education pilot project, overseeing implementation, stakeholder engagement, monitoring, and reporting in line with donor and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate project implementation in line with approved workplans, budgets, and timelines
Track progress using activity plans, milestones, and reporting tools
Manage project finances including budget monitoring and expenditure tracking
Coordinate trainings, learner orientation, and digital learning deployment
Oversee monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning (MERL) activities
Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories
Ensure timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and donor reports
Engage key stakeholders including government agencies and partners
Support risk management and ensure mitigation strategies are implemented
Promote safeguarding, gender equality, inclusion, and accountability
Safeguarding Responsibilities
Ensure a safe and protective environment for children and programme participants
Adhere strictly to safeguarding and protection policies
Report any safeguarding concerns promptly
Promote awareness of safeguarding standards among staff and communities
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Project Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field (Master’s is an advantage)
Completion of NYSC is required
Minimum of 5 years experience in coordinating donor-funded education or development programmes
Experience within Nigeria’s education sector (formal or non-formal)
Strong knowledge of project management, budgeting, and reporting
Experience with monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes
Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills
Additional Skills & Experience
Experience with digital learning or education technology programmes
Familiarity with Accelerated Basic Education Programme (ABEP) or similar initiatives
Strong communication, facilitation, and report writing skills
Understanding of gender equality, safeguarding, and inclusion
Ability to work in multicultural environments and under pressure
Fluency in English (knowledge of Hausa is an added advantage)
