    Overview

    The Protection Monitoring and Community Based Protection Officer plays a key role in implementing protection activities at the local government level, coordinating and supervising protection monitoring and community based protection activities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct focus group discussions and key informant interviews to document protection incidents.
    • Support household surveys, ensuring accurate documentation and analyze protection trends.
    • Facilitate awareness sessions on protection risks, human rights, and safety practices.
    • Supervise and support partner staff implementing protection activities.
    • Support establishment of feedback and complaint mechanisms within communities.
    • Conduct risk assessments before field visits; coordinate movements with safety teams.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Human Rights, Peacebuilding or related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in community based protection or humanitarian response.
    • Strong facilitation, training, and communication skills.
    • Fluency in Hausa and other local languages; good command of English.
