    Overview

    Scholarships are available for students from selected countries in the Sahel, Middle East, and Horn of Africa to pursue the MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development at the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education. These scholarships are funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the IHE Delft Water and Development Partnership Programme (WDPP).

    Benefits

    Full scholarships include full tuition fees, health insurance, international travel expenses, and a monthly allowance of €1,220. Partial scholarships are also available for applicants with existing funding.

    Requirements

    • Must be a national of Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, Yemen, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, or Nigeria.
    • Must live or work in one of the eligible countries at the time of application.
    • Must receive academic admission to the MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development.
    • Must agree to conduct MSc research in their home country or region.
    • Must participate in seminars organized by the programme’s learning networks.
    • Must commit to returning to their home country or another priority country after completing the programme.
    • Must submit two recommendation letters, one from the applicant’s current employer.
    • Strong academic background, clear motivation, career goals, and relevant professional work experience are key selection criteria.
    • Female candidates are given strong priority. Preference may be given to those who can arrange partial co-funding.
    • Proof of English language proficiency is required, unless the applicant is from Kenya, Nigeria, or Uganda.

    How to Apply

    There is no separate scholarship application form. Applicants must first apply for admission to the MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development. Once admitted and if all eligibility requirements are met, candidates will automatically be considered for the scholarship.
