Overview

This role offers the opportunity to support shelter and infrastructure interventions aimed at reducing the impact of predictable shocks such as seasonal flooding and displacement risks in conflict-affected areas of Adamawa State.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and implement shelter-related activities, including minor repairs and household shelter reinforcement.
Conduct technical assessments and prepare bills of quantities (BoQs).
Monitor sites and ensure compliance with safety and Sphere standards.
Coordinate with community structures and support beneficiary engagement.
Contribute to reporting and accountability systems.

Requirements

Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Relevant experience in shelter or construction work, preferably in humanitarian contexts.
Experience in West Africa is essential.
Strong technical skills and knowledge of community-based implementation.
Fluency in English and at least one local language (such as Hausa or Kanuri).
