Overview
The University of Oxford is seeking a Departmental Lecturer and Researcher in Environmental Science and Policy with a Global South focus for a five-year full-time position at the Environmental Change Institute (ECI).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver postgraduate teaching, including lectures, seminars, and supervision.
- Develop and design MSc modules and electives.
- Conduct assessments and provide academic feedback.
- Support field trips and experiential learning.
- Establish an independent research program aligned with ECI's core themes (Climate, Ecosystems, Energy, Food Systems, Global Finance and Economy, Infrastructure Systems, Land, Society and Governance).
- Strengthen quantitative and systems-based approaches in interdisciplinary environmental research, with a focus on Global South contexts.
- Contribute to shaping innovative environmental research and teaching.
Requirements
- Doctorate in a relevant field (or close to completion).
- Strong publication record appropriate to career stage.
- Experience in quantitative research and analytical techniques.
- Proven ability to teach effectively at postgraduate level.
- Capacity for interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Engagement with policy-relevant research.
- Scholar capable of bridging scientific research and public policy, particularly in Global South environmental contexts.
